Club Update #28

28/3/2015

Read here for some league position outcomes, well done and good luck messages, club rucksacks, training dates, youth advisory opportunities, umpire exams, reminders eg end of season awards evening etc!

Performance
Here's the outcomes of the leagues we know about. More to follow as other leagues finish.
U12A are clear champions of the WY league, unbeaten and with a big goal difference  of 276 and one match still to play. They go forward to the regional tournament on 7 June, good luck.

U14A are champions of the Yorkshire Regional league, unbeaten and with a great goal average of more than 4, which is almost double the next best team. They go through to national club championships in Newcastle on 23/24 May.

Our Premier League team finished 6th in the top league in the country.

Netball Eviction from the Airco Arena

20/3/2015

You will no doubt have heard the devastating news about the eviction of Netball along with all other Community sports from the Airco Arena in Hull from 13th April 2015 in order to provide a 3G indoor venue for the sole use of football for Hull City AFC

How can you support our opposition to this action?

One way is to use the link below to sign the online petition. Click the link below to take the petition

Club Update #27

17/3/2015

Performance update. Wins this weekend for WY Seniors and Regional Seniors, well done all. Mixed picture in Juniors. U11A won, but U11B lost. U12 lost a very close game today. U14B beat top of the league Hudds Giants and U14A had a big win to secure their qualification for Nationals. U16 lost their game today, so need to win their last game to be sure of qualification for Nationals.

Well done to club members representing their schools at National schools finals this weekend, a long cold day of competition. Greenhead won u19, GSAL runners up in u16.

Two Jets games this week. In Hull tomorrow night vs Team Northumbria, then in Leeds on Friday night vs Surrey Storm. Jets have also launched their summer programme as part of their new Athlete Development Programme. The summer programme will be for current year 8&9, but programmes for other ages will be launched in autumn. Click here for information http://www.yorkshirejets.co.uk/development/

Reminders
- end of season party Friday 29 May, Leo's Rugby Club. More details soon
- we are looking for more volunteers to help run the club, things are currently falling onto a small number of people
- we need to remember the code of conduct for players and parents/supporters
- reminders of training dates will be in next week's update

Club Update #26

8/3/2015

First off, congratulations to Rosie Harris and Imogen Allison playing in England U17s at Netball Europe in Hull this weekend. England were victorious and both girls got plenty of court time. Well done to our colleagues in Humberside and Yorkshire Netball who delivered the event!

Well done to some of our younger players in Regional Squad who also played in matches for Yorkshire against a Scotland development squad and won quite easily, good experience.

Busy weekend of fixtures this week and a mixed picture on performance. U11B lost by 1 goal to Twinkles. Not had a result from U11A yet. A great morning for U12, with U12B winning 22-6 v Twinkles and U12A winning 32-11 against Wildcats. U14B lost by just 5 goals. Our WY senior team lost by just one goal too on Saturday. Our Prem lost today in a very tough match vs Academy who are currently second in the league. We remain 4th in Premier 1 division.

Jets Secured a win last night over Celtic Dragons, though closer than expected. Tomorrow they travel to Loughborough, which will be tough. This is a sky game if you can watch it!

Thanks again to the Bickerton's for the water bottles, we've had really good feedback about the water bottles, so clearly people appreciate them!

Thanks
Mariana

Club Update  # 25 - A Saturday Update

7/3/2015

First off, congratulations and good luck to Rosie Harris and Imogen Allison playing in England U17s at Netball Europe in Hull this weekend. Follow on Twitter or buy tickets to watch!

Secondly, big congratulations to Maggie Birkinshaw, LANC prem coach and Jets assistant coach, on gaining her "B" umpire award. Great asset for the club, watch this space for Maggie doing the "A" award next!

WATCHING PREMIER GAME TOMORROW
juniors, why not come along and watch the Premier team tomorrow (Sunday) at Leeds Beckett University. Match starts at 12:30pm. The support would be great for our prem squad and watching that level of netball is great for the younger girls to learn about performance netball.

Busy weekend of fixtures this week. All our junior teams in WY leagues are out this weekend, plus WY seniors and Prem. Good luck to all our teams.

JETS
Great week for Jets so far, with an impressive win live on Sky Sports against Hertfordshire Mavericks at Hudds University. The team are travelling to Cardiff today to play Celtic Dragons and then to Loughborough on Monday to play Lightning.

Game Day for some of our very smiley juniors!
