Club update #23

22/2/2015

Correction to last week, our a northern league team are actually top of the league....well done.

CLUB PERFORMANCE
only two matches today - U14/U16 played in the regional league. Both won and so look good to qualify for nationals. Both are top with a maximum of 25 points. u16 goal average is 3.38, u14 goal average is 3.40. Well done to players and coaches. Thanks to parents, particularly for getting to today's matches in Hull!!!

AWARDS EVENING

Save the date Friday 29 May, for the end of season bash at Leo's. This will be the Club's award evening to celebrate team and individual success. Tickets will be available nearer the time.

JETS
had a great match vs Bath on Friday night, securing an important away win 51-54. Next match is against Hertfordshire Mavericks at home in Huddersfield.

ENGLAND NETBALL CHARITY COLLECTION
England Netball partner with a charity each year and collect through netball matches. This year, the two week period, referred to as Net10forLife is between 28th February to 15th March. Cancer Research UK is the charity. The idea is that for every goal that is scored the team contribute 10p. However, I suggest we just collect 50p or £1 of each player at one match during this period. If captains/parent helpers can collect and pass the money to me in an envelope we will submit this as a club and let you know how much we raised in total.

Full weekend of WY junior fixtures next weekend, plus premier and WY seniors. Good luck to everyone. Why not nip to Leeds Beckett on Sunday to watch Premier league, 12:30, great standard of play.

Remember to book on camps before they sell out. Details on news page of website.

Thanks
Mariana

CLUB WATER BOTTLES
Huge thanks to Simon and Sally Bickerton (U14 parents) for sponsoring the club water bottles. It may take a couple of weeks to hand all these out. Tim Barber (U14 parent) has sorted these and will hand them out....thanks Tim! There's a picture on the website. If any other parents would like to sponsor anything, or know someone who would, please talk to Tim.

NETBALL WORKSHOPS
See these links for another Jets shooting workshop (previous one sold out) and a Jets centre court workshop. Book online before these sell out. There are also boot and fun camp opportunities on the same website.

JETS
Had a great match vs Thunder on Friday, narrowly losing by 3 goals in a really hard fought game. Great to have a sell out crowd, and brilliant to see so many Leeds Athletic girls and parents in the crowd. Some remaining fixtures are sold out, so get tickets quick if you want them!

TRAINING
Quick reminder, training is on THURSDAY 18 FEBRUARY for U14/U16/seniors. It's a "Jets Special" for U14, U16 and seniors. Sally Butters will do some mid court training, Tuaine Keenan some defence skills and Nikala Smith some shooting skills. There'll be no training for U11 and U12 until after half term. There will be no training on Thursday 2 April, Maundy Thursday, when there is also a Jets Game vs Bath.

Midweek Special - Update #21

12/2/2015

JETS
First to say that Jets won on Monday night. Match report is on Jets website. It means that Jets are third in the league heading into Round 4, with Timmy being top of the shooters league and Jets being second on team shooting......well done to Anna and the coaching team, and well done to the Lauren, Natalie and the team. Next match Friday, home vs Thunder, follow on Twitter if you haven't got a ticket!

TRAINING NEXT WEEK
THURSDAY 18 FEBRUARY.....we hadn't scheduled Club training during half term as so many people are away. However, for various reasons, we are doing a "Jets Special" for U14, U16 and seniors. This will be a one off session for these age groups between 5:45pm-7:15pm (at GSAL) for those who are available and not away on holiday. Attendance is optional given it isn't a scheduled session. Sally Butters will do some mid court training, Tuaine Keenan some defence skills and Nikala Smith some shooting skills. There'll be no training next week for U11 and U12.

EASTER CAMPS
some spaces left on camps, boot camp and fun camps. Book here http://www.elite-netball.co.uk/events/categories/netballcamps/

AND FINALLY GOOD LUCK
to teams playing this weekend. No junior fixtures. In Seniors, Northern league play Sheffield Stormers, Premier play Oldham, Regional squad play Calderdale

Have a great holiday to all those going away. Safe trips to you.....
