Club Update #35

10/6/2015

Just when you were thinking the netball season was over.....!

RESULTS:
Our U12 were runners up in a very competitive Yorkshire regional tournament at the weekend. The three tops teams (us, Chevrons and Giants) were separated just by very marginal differences in goal average. Great experience for those girls and parents to learn about being part of a squad in an intense tournament ready for trying to qualify for nationals when they move into the bigger stage of U14 next year. Well done to players and coaches.

Our younger girls (U11/10) travelled to Oldham at the weekend, where the competition is always very very strong. Everyone played well, although the results didn't go our way. Nevertheless a great experience and lots to learn for the girls ready for moving into U12 next year. Great for us to get out of Yorkshire so young to see what we're up against standard wise!

ENGLAND MATCH:
There is a fantastic opportunity for our girls to see top quality netball in Huddersfield on 11 July. Tracey Neville is bringing her squad to play against an England Select team (and there is also a u19/u21 squad match) just before she takes the squad to the World Cup. Tickets are selling fast, so visit Ticketline to get yours. Our U12 are ball girls for these matches.

CAMPS:
Remember you can book on the fun camps or boot camps (according to age/ability etc)....info on the YJ website. These are great to keep the girls going through the summer!

GOOD LUCK:
Usual good luck message to those trialling for the regional programme this month.

TRIALS:
I will try and get the information about who will be coaching each age group next season in the next week or so and open the trial entry process. I will let you know when it is open, then you can pass it onto others who maybe interested in joining LANC.

GET INVOLVED:
There is a basic course available for anyone who's interested in getting involved in coaching stc. See below. Club will support this if you're prepared to help for a couple of years! Get in touch.
