Performance
Good start to the season with a largely successful weekend on court. All juniors made a good start in their WY campaigns with wins for U16/U14A and U14B, some very convincing wins. U12 don't play for another couple of weeks. Northern league started with a win over Chevrons and Senior WY league won their game on Saturday too. Our Premier Squad came up against a strong side at The Downs and lost by a few goals, showing how tough this league is, especially when combined with travel.
Big thanks to all our helpers today, some doing it for the first time, some doing the big job of organising travel as well as everything else (Vicki!). A few glitches, but nothing major. I'm sure everything will be smooth next week. We have a very busy set of fixtures next weekend with most teams out. We have everyone affiliated and registered now, thanks Bobbie and Mark. Scores should be on the website. Let's see if we can get some more match reports on the website! Anna is busy completing all the player profiling from today and liaising with Kylie and the other coaches ready for next weekend.
Under 14 player Isabella was injured on Sunday, with her mum who also has her leg on pot! All members of the club are wishing Isabella a speedy recovery and return to netball.
Coaching arrangements for seniors/U16
Unfortunately, Maggie won't be delivering the coaching for seniors/U16 on a Thursday night, because she will be doing SuperLeague coaching. She will retain responsibility for WY and Senior Regional Teams though, which is great. We have been lucky enough to secure Melissa Hyndman to cover this coaching session, which will be great for the girls. Melissa is the former Fiji and Wales national coach and is now head of netball at Queen Ethelburga's. Welcome to Melissa who starts with us on 8/10.
