Club Update #19

3/2/2015

PERFORMANCE - JETS
Starting with SuperLeague, Jets had a great performance on Friday night in Sheffield, beating Lightning 70-44 in the opening match of the season. Yet again, netball was also profiled live on Look North. The match report is on the homepage of our website or on the Yorkshire Jets website. There has also been more coverage in the YEP and the YP this week. Well done players and coaching team, and thanks to volunteers. Next home match is Friday 13 February vs Thunder. Likely to be a sell out, so get your tickets quickly from Ticketline, enter discount code JETS14.

CLUB PERFORMANCE
Busy weekend of WY junior fixtures, with just our premier league out in seniors. Here goes......Starting with seniors, our premier squad beat New Campbell by 58-54 in a nail biting and incredibly competitive match. Well done to players and coaching team, not an easy one!  I went to watch today and would encourage parents of kids who want to play high quality netball to get to these games when they're at home. It's great entertainment, there's lots to learn and it gives our players some local support.
And now to juniors in WY league. First well done goes to our U11B who got the first win of their campaign, fantastic achievement as most of these are only U10 and they're playing in the top WY league. Well done also to our U11A who won again.....unbeaten so far. Well done to the players, thanks to the coaches and parents who helped.

In WY U12 league today, it was our U12A vs our U12B. Always a difficult fixture for players, coaches and parents. The A team won, and remain unbeaten, but it's important to remember that our U12B are playing in the top WY league against many other A teams. They will continue to learn and develop to help them get other victories.

Superb win against Shipley A team 31-17, for our U14B team today as they aim for a podium place in the top WY league. First win of this new campaign, the benefits from their coaching really showing through at this stage of the season. You can see their picture on the home page and the age group page.

NEXT WEEK

Busy weekend of fixtures next week. All seniors out apart from regional league. All juniors playing. U14A have one of their crunch games in regional league against Chevrons. Watch this space for results! Also, Regional Schools is next week, following the postponement because of the weather......again good luck to our players in that, results next week!
