The bulk of trials are complete, thanks to everyone who trialled, selected, umpired and helped run the sessions. We've had not far off 100 athletes trial in U12 and above, so quite an operation! For those not successful, we have recommended other clubs so that people carry on their netball. We had 40 or so U11s training today, which is great to see so many young ones keen. Positive feedback so far about the 2 hour sessions for training on a Thursday night.
Main thing this week is collecting FEES AND FORMS, so we can register and affiliate. It's a mammoth task to undertake entering all those details onto the England Netball system, and then register relevant players to relevant leagues. Please submit your fees and forms as soon as poss. Players are not insured and cannot play matches until all this is done. Other main thing is KIT, see/email Louise asap if you want to order some, so we can place a single order asap. Start putting FIXTURES in your diaries this week. I hope to have admin support details for each squad sorted by this time next week.
IMPORTANT DATES - there will be a parent information evening with Maggie and Kylie on Thursday 24th September at 7pm, upstairs in the studio at GSAL. I realise that this timing and venue is not perfect for everyone, but it is not possible to run this at different venues and different times I'm afraid. It won't take long, but this is a good opportunity to hear about the club from a coaching perspective. PLEAE ATTEND IF YOU CAN. It is a good opportunity to hear about the performance ethos of the club and what this means in practice. I will also say a bit about volunteers, especially for those who ticked the box to say they would help!. There will also be the Club AGM on 8th October at 7pm at GSAL, upstairs in the studio. We will be looking for more people to help, as the running of the club does take a lot on both the coaching and the admin side. These dates will be on the calendar later this week.
I will try to do a weekly update, as we have done the last couple of seasons, but also please use the website for info. I'd like the website to be more dynamic, so this year we will be asking for players/parents to submit photos, match reports etc, through their age group reps.
