E Bulletin 29th January 2014
RESULTS & YORKSHIRE JETS
RESULTS The excellent results from last weekend have been on the website since Sunday. Other than our u12b, who we're playing our u12a, we had wins across the board! The u12b did well against the U12a, scoring more goals than many other teams have done (and remember almost half of them are actually u11!). Both our u11 teams won, which is fab. U11b was close and they had to fight, and did to win! U14 met a strong side, see match report on the website! U16, regional, premier and WY Senior all secured really good victories to help with their placings in the respective leagues. Well done everyone. We have seven matches this coming weekend, watch the website for results!
YORKSHIRE JETS - get your tickets from Friends of Yorkshire Jets for £5. Email me or ask at training if you want a ticket, or let me know if you want to volunteer on match nights!!! Great fun!
The first Yorkshire Jets home game of the Zeo Netball Superleague season is just two weeks away! After an intensive pre-season the Jets welcome Surrey Storm to their Yorkshire stronghold in a game that looks set to be a spectacle. The last time the sides met the result was a high scoring thriller with the Yorkshire Jets overcoming their southern rivals by just one point! The home side will be looking to repeat their success in front of a packed crowd in the Headingley Arena.
The new season sees the arrival of new players from across the globe, the Jets having bolstered their squad with the signing of New Zealand duo Kendra Falefitu & Tuaine Keenan and Australian centre court star Lindal Rohde (who all play for Leeds Athletic). The new trio and a combination of old favourites means Head Coach Anna Carter has a plethora of talent at her disposal in what the team hope to be their most successful season yet.
Netball is a popular fixture at Leeds Metropolitan University and the Headingley Arena will play host to a new fan zone, aimed at improving the match day experience for the Jets fans. Spectators can expect a licensed bar, Dominoes Pizza, tuck shop, player replica merchandise, as well as face and nail painting.
We wish the squad the best of luck as they travel to Loughborough Lightning on Saturday to open their Zeo Netball Superleague 2014 campaign. Follow the game on twitter!!
In the next bulletin, we will cover half term dates, raffle and fees!!! Much more mundane!!
