Update #2

30/8/2017

Season almost here, so for those who haven’t paid subs, please can you now do so this next couple of days as the first set of registrations need to be in on 1 September.  Details are in the email I sent titled Joining Instructions earlier this month.

The up to date handbook will be on the Club Info page of the website at the weekend and contains a reminder of all the important information you need as a member of the Club. The Google calendar has training sessions on it, but not all matches until we get those details from each league. Premier League and Northern League matches are the only matches we have so far.

What a weekend for many of our athletes and coaches at Nottingham last weekend. Here is a link to the England Netball Report http://www.englandnetball.co.uk/manchester-thunder-loughborough-lightning-star-2017-npl-tournament/
We had two of our coaches there, Anna and Jan coaching LBro U21s. We had about 18 current LANC members, mainly across the two Yorkshire teams and the U21/19 LBoro teams, someone in the Team North U21, plus a handful of our former members across other U21 teams. The weekend was a huge credit to the player development approach at the Club and an incredible weekend of netball. Many of our players were lucky enough to play in finals and get silver or gold medals. Something for our younger members to aspire to in future years, hats off to those who came to watch!

Netball Nights continues, the summer training programme was a great success, U11s have a mini tournament this week, and fixtures start soon towards the end of the month. Our Australia trip is full, Louise is ordering kit, new balls and bibs have arrived…..Mark is busy with affiliations! Training starts next week. #betterneverstops!

Update #1

15/8/2017

First update as the new season approaches.
For the so called "off season", there has been a fair amount of activity especially for those in U14 and above.

Personally, a few weeks without quite the same level of intensity as the main season has made me reflect on some of the great opportunities the athletes are getting and also just what great stuff the Club as a while achieved last season.

As some highlights, we: stayed in top division of Premier League; were 3rd in Northern League; 4th in Senior Regional League; unbeaten winners of WY SuperLeague and of the Summer League; strong finish (4TH) in tough Netball Nights adult league for our juniors;  U11A 1ST & U11B 4TH - in WY Hi Five top division; U12A 1ST in WY first div & U12B 3RD IN WY first div & U12C top in 2nd division (playing up); U14A - Y&H Champs and WY champs – unbeaten; U14B – 3rd in WY first division; and our U16 were 3rd at the Club Nationals Tournament, as well as being  Y&H Champs and WY champs
Netball Nights has continued to provide super opportunities for many through the off season, with a few new athletes making their debut in this adult league and often having the opportunity to play with some very experienced athletes. Thanks to those who sort these squads week in week out, no easy task through the holiday season and with a number of athletes unavailable due to Regional Training.
