Tim, and his party helpers, are kindly organising another social event, on 11 November, at St Chads in Headingley. These events are becoming renowned for being very competitive and or everyone having a great evening with good company and good food. It is a great way to get to know other members of your squad and of other squads! This one is Parents vs Players. You can buy tickets from Tim tim@light-fish.co.uk.
Season is well underway now, with training intensifying, a number of junior games already played and the first senior match now played. 4 wins from 4 on Sunday! Both U14 teams won, U16 won their second match convincingly and Northern League team won their first match.
We also had a number of our athletes, coaches, and volunteers heavily involved in the Jets Farewell match on Friday, a fabulous demonstration of netball! And a number of our athletes away on England Performance Camp in Loughborough for the weekend. Big thanks to all the committee members and coaches for all their work to be ready for the season. It's worth noting that there's an incredible amount of admin work to affiliate all the players, register all the teams and then all the players, check all the fixtures (some 150 from about 6 different sources), book venues, and collect fees and forms so that everyone can play legitimately and be insured, ensure we follow all the rules, post results etc etc etc!!!! In terms of club communications, we try to do a weekly update, but also please use the website, Twitter and Facebook. Here's the latest position on a few things:
Good luck to our Netball Nights teams this week on Wednesday, to WY Senior for Saturdays clash between last season’s 1st and 2nd teams, and on Sunday we have 8 teams playing matches (all 3 x U12, both U14 teams, our U16 team and both premier and northern league matches in seniors!). New rules for All Netball in England from September 2016
From September 2016 all domestic competition in England will be played in line with the International Netball Federation (INF) new rules. You may have noticed these rules being implemented already in recent International Test Series and Netball Super League. Read on to find out everything you need to know before taking to the court this September! It is important for netball to be inclusive, to encourage as many people to play as possible, and in some cases it would not be appropriate to apply the INF Rules at particular levels of competition. Therefore England Netball has also developed guidance for different levels of domestic Netball indicating permitted variances to the INF Rules. Almost there! Thank you for all the trial applications, good luck to everyone. Delighted with the coaching team we have this season, please see handbook for details. All the background planning work for trials is done, affiliations and registrations are ready to be done, fixtures ready to be put on the website, thanks to those who do an amazing job that is not very visible - you know who are you! Here's to a successful season. We will email everyone the outcome of trials as soon as possible. For those joining the club, we will be chasing forms and fees straightaway, because of getting people affiliated so that they are insured and registered ready to play. The first league games are mid-end September, so we need to be ready. |
