Happy new year! Back into full swing for what will be a very busy period for netball!!
Thanks to those who volunteered after my last request! And thanks to the coaches and volunteers who have done stuff over the break to plan sessions, organise umpires, sort out fixtures to be on the Google calendar and do all the necessary paperwork so that athletes can enjoy their netball!
RESULTS
Very successful day for juniors today. Wins across the board and some very successful ones as well!!!
In their first matches, U11A beat YMCA 22-6, and U11B beat Wildcats 13-4. So many smiles on the pictures! No matches for any of our U12 teams today unfortunately! Good win for our
U14B beating Terriers 34-12 as they open their attempt to win the WY league.
U14A beat Stormers 61-12 to make a great start to their regional round. It was an even bigger win for U16A, with a 98-2, against Stormers in their regional round! Almost a cricket score!
Northern league match was regrettably cancelled because their umpire wasn't well.
Premier squad, with a number of young players, did well against top of the table Oldham, losing by just 9 goals.
Well done and thanks to all the coaches who have prepared these squads.
To those players rested or injured this weekend, speedy recovery and keep working hard for your opportunity.
LOOKING AHEAD
Next week sees Senior Regional vs Chevrons and Northern vs Riverside. No Premier game. WY seniors play their rivals Calderdale. No U14&U16 regional games and no u12 games, but there are WY junior games for both U11 teams and for U14B. Five of our players are off to their monthly National Academy camp for the weekend.
WATCHING AND PLAYING OPPORTUNITIES
Don't forget to book those tickets for England vs NZ in Liverpool early February. For 8-14 year olds, book on half term camp with Anna, Maggie, Jan by visiting Elite Netball website.
