SAVE THE DATE 19th May for end of season awards presentation evening!
COACHING SUPPORT - Our athletes can help out at sessions with younger athletes as part of volunteering and personal development. In doing so, those athletes will accrue credit from the club to contribute towards the cost of coaching courses to help them get qualifications. Contact Susie if you're interested in helping susiestead@hotmail.com
RESULTS - Two weekends of results! Last weekend in Jan, U11B and prem lost their games, but we had wins across all the other games. U14&16 enjoyed a friendly followed by "Pizza and watching Prem". Our U11A beat our U11B. This weekend, we had good wins for both U14&16 in regional league matches, U14B, Senior Regional, WY seniors and Northern won, and Prem lost to a very physical Worcester side. U12 had a good friendly with a NW team.
ROSES - Hope everyone enjoyed watching the Roses in the quad series, especially those who went to the games. Good to see our Prem players Nat Haythornthwaite take to the court, and to see Rachel Shaw in the squad.
YORKSHIRE NPL - One win and one loss so far, great event at Beckett on Saturday, thanks to club members who came to watch! Well done to players and coaches and helpers from our club! Two more matches in this 'northern' phase of the competition.
KIT - Blue t-shirts are £8 and available in kids and adults sizes, including initials. See Facebook page for a picture! Contact Louise if you want one maboocock@sky.com
TRIPS - Regrettably we had to abandon planning the u12 trip to Disney as not quite enough interest. Planning for Australia 2018 for current U14&16 continues, thanks to those who've expressed interest, we will be in touch soon.
INJURIES AND ILLNESS - Here's some good wishes for our players who are ill or injured, on behalf of the club, we wish you a speedy recovery, take care.
LOOKING AHEAD - February is a bit of a quieter month for fixtures in many leagues, as they break for half term, which often means more than one weekend off. We are trying to make up for that with Netball Nights, a friendly with some NW teams, and a mini tournament for the very young athletes.
PATHWAY - Well done to those progressing through the pathway and good luck to those participating in playdays with district/county/regional and fitness testing with Regional over half term. Good look to all our players aiming for upcoming England trials in March.
FEES – For those juniors who paid in instalments, the second set of fees is now due. Please get in touch with Mark maboocock@sky.com to organise payment.
COMMUNICATIONS – Don’t forget we have a club Facebook page that members can join and this is a good way to stay in touch with results.
AND FINALLY.....THANKS.....as usual, thanks to all those who make the club work, on and off court - too many people to mention! I know it doesn't always feel those efforts are appreciated, but I am sure it is!
