NETBALL NIGHTS
great victory this week for our young team, great video clips on Twitter, well done and thanks to Mark and Hannah for organising, and to Tim for the video.
U11 MINI TOURNAMENT
thanks to Mark for organising a mini tournament this weekend for our youngsters. Sunday morning at Beckett. 8-10:45am ish. Our England Netball National Academy players will be handing out the certificates.
THIS WEEKEND
Prem are away this weekend, Northern are at home (Beckett 11-1pmif anyone around to watch). U14A and U16 both have Regional games in Barnsley this weekend, let’s hope that both can continue their unbeaten runs on that roadtonationals!
FRIENDLIES
thanks to John for taking some of our U12 across to the NW last weekend. Our U16 and some of our U14 are playing NW and NE teams later this month in a tri-club event, which will help with nationals preparation for those teams. Quite a few teams are looking to enter summer tournaments, which is great for developing players and squads.
CHARITY
Net10 for Life is back for 2017! What is Net10 for Life? Net10 for Life is an event organised in partnership between Cancer Research UK and England Netball, to help end cancer sooner. For every goal scored in a game, each team donates 10p! So how does it work? On the 12th March 2017, the West Yorkshire Junior League will be taking part in Net10. After each match, the total goals are added together (e.g. Team A scored 17 and Team B scored 12 = 29 in total), and both teams donate that many 10ps (£2.90 each!). Age group admin help will hopefully sort our contributions, we have quite a lot of matches that day!
AUSTRALIA TRIP
we have expressions of interest from those eligible in current U14 and U16 and are on with planning 2/3 options with different companies. Exciting stuff!
NPL U19
Next home game for Yorkshire NPL is against Loughborough Lightning on Saturday 18 February at Huddersfield Leisure Centre at 5:30pm. There is likely to be a warm up game for some of the county academies beforehand. Be great to get some support, especially from the youngsters at the club.
And finally, for those going skiing or holidays at half term, enjoy and stay injury free! And to those who've been ill/injured........get well soon and take care!
