What a busy and good week for Leeds Athletic netball club! Thank you to all coaches and parents for the support and encouragement of our talented athletes.

Prem lost away at Tameside who fielded some strong England Roses, a great performance all round from our girls and most of the match closely contested. Northern are still unbeaten they took the win against HiTec 54-45. Senior Regional had a battle against top of the league Hallam and won 46-37, coming back from being a few down. In the West Yorkshire Super League on Saturday it was a win for our seniors 54-39 against Wakefield Wildcats even our umpire sent an e mail to say how much she had enjoyed the game, well done girls.
U16s and U14s continued on their road to nationals with wins against Kingston 70-14 and Wakefield Wildcats 33-24 respectively. The U16 West Yorkshire squad had two matches and two wins Huddersfield Giants 37-6 and Rothwell 41-18 whilst the U14 West Yorkshire squad beat Huddersfield Giants 2 by 21 goals. U12 LANC C made an excellent effort against our U12 LANC A losing the battle but learning lots. Well done both teams. U12 LANC B were victors playing Wakefield Wildcats. U12 LANC D had an amazing score winning 29-2 v Twinkles. The Netball Night’s team won 36-20 on Wednesday against Leeds Medics and are currently top of that league with two games to go.

Looking ahead The fixture calendar is a bit quieter for a few weeks, as the half term holidays are here. Only WY Senior and Prem next weekend. Let’s see if we can get some support for our home prem match, Sunday 11 Feb at 12:30pm at Beckett. We have no Northern and Senior Regional for a few weeks and hardly any Junior matches. And, excitement is growing about the Leeds Athletic Australia tour in August. Kit will be available to order this month. Anyone who has contacts in the business world who may be potential sponsors of this trip please contact Mariana.
Don't forget If we have any parents who are up for learning to umpire or coach, let us know!
