News  Update #10

PERFORMANCE
No Senior games this Sunday but our West Yorkshire Seniors were out on Saturday playing Harrogate Phoenix and winning convincingly 55-26 no point for Phoenix as we won by more than half score, which is a good result in that league. Our young guns in Netball Nights had another great win midweek! Netball Nights continues to be an excellent development ground for our young players. In the juniors section where many teams had two games there were some big wins including several matches with more than double the score of our opposition. U16(1) beat Huddersfield Giants 47-10 and YMCA 68-14, racking up some really big goal differences! The U16(2) meanwhile took another two wins against Yorkshire Terriers 46-23 and Wakefield Wildcats 41-20. The U14(1) team beat YMCA 41-8 and Yorkshire Terriers 50-6. Our U14(2) (mostly U13s) team beat Wakefield Wildcat 31- 21 and lost to Huddersfield Giants 22-14. The U12(3) on a winning streak and top of their league beat Wakefield Phoenix (2) 17-11. Well done all teams and coaches.

KIT
Our admin volunteers religiously send out kit instructions on team sheets every week. Please comply with club expectations by taking note. Everyone should have a black match day bra and fully covering black undershorts. And on the kit note, only LANC kit is to be worn for training including sweatshirts representative kit in particular will be frowned upon.

GOOD LUCK
Wishing good luck to all our athletes at Great Britain Colleges Trials this week. SPECTATE West Yorkshire Seniors will be playing Wakefield Wildcats at Whitcliffe Mount School on Saturday 10.15am for any aspiring players to watch, although viewing is limited at courtside.

PHOTOGRAPHS
There have been some great crazy photos this week, the U16s are winning at the moment can your team beat it?? The competition is open until the last match of the year so keep them coming. Anything goes.

ROLL OF HONOUR With thanks to Keeley and our age group admins, I am pleased to list the roll of honour for this season (Senior, U16 and U14). Fingers crossed we haven’t missed anyone or anything. U12 will follow later.

News Update #9

5/11/2018

PERFORMANCE
Mainly seniors games this weekend, and we had mixed fortunes. Losses for WY Seniors and for Prem, but wins for Northern and Senior Regional. In terms of league tables at this early point in the season, we are 2nd in WY Senior and Regional (on goal difference), top in Northern, and near the bottom in Prem. Our junior teams are all near the top! Hats off to our U12s who beat a local U14 side in a friendly, had a great game and lots of learning.

NEXT WEEKEND

Back to full schedule next weekend! U12A & U12C have Games, and in each of U14s and U16s our As play our Bs! It's a busy seniors weekend, with a Saturday fixture vs Leeds Lightning, then Prem, Northern and Regional fixtures on Sunday. Teams likely to be issued Wednesday.

SENIOR/U16

For those athletes playing senior games, please keep a record of quarters played and be aware of the rules so that you make coaches aware if you are not eligible for other teams because you have played too many quarters.

TRAINING
Info about training during the week has gone out from team managers, because we have no Gateways facility this week! I am delighted to say that Marion Lofthouse will be covering senior training on 15&22 November, a brilliant opportunity to learn from a very experienced coach!

INJURIES

Great to see some more players retuning from injury this weekend, not great that we sustained more injuries this weekend! Fingers crossed to everyone for a speedy recovery. Take advice, share information and keep your coach/team manager posted.

OTHER NETBALL
Great to see so many of our players appearing in Rhinos fixtures over the weekend, and indeed our coaches too!! Keeley is preparing the roll of honour for the season, so watch this space for that! Good luck to those taking their umpiring assessment! Let us know if anyone wants to volunteer for anything else, we still need a social secretary!

Thanks
