Looking Ahead to Next Season

Picture
As the season draws to a proper close, with only two tournaments left, we're busy planning for next season. We have some exciting developments and ambitions that will enable us to build on the progress made this season.

As a reminder, trial details are on the website and deadline is 9 August for U12 and above (U11 festival closing date is later).

We've already announced GSAL as the training venue for U12 and above, with LMU as the venue for U11 (9-10:30 Sunday morning).  Training times - Thursday evening at GSAL will be as follows......

  • U12 will train from 5:45-7:15pm (with last 15 minutes for cool down and team briefing in the Studio 7-7:15pm)
  • U14 will train from 6:45-8:30pm  (with first 15 mins warm up and team briefing in studio 6:45-7pm)
  • Seniors and U16 will train 8:15-10pm (with warm up and team briefing in studio 8:15-8:30pm)

I realise that everyone is keen to know the coaching structure and the fees for next season. We are now close to finalising both of these and I hope to
let you have that information in the next week or so.

We will be entering all the usual leagues next year, and also entering a local winter ladies league for some of our junior players. We will be
looking to enter more tournaments across all the age groups and run some specialist additional training workshops (shooters, defenders, centre court)
with Jets players. The club handbook is being revised, with clearer expectations of club members eg kit/kit bags etc, and we are expecting some
press coverage of the success of the club very soon. There will also be a google calendar on the website, with all the fixtures and training sessions
to save emails and enquiries. The website will be updated over the summer and we will want more photos, match reports and "news" about our players
next year.

SAVE THE DATE, Following the success of the end of season awards, we will be holding a Club BBQ on Sunday 28 September 2-6pm at Leo's. This will be the perfect way for new members to meet people and for all the age groups to get together with families.

VOLUNTEERS - we have a specific opportunity for volunteers, for people to learn how to do the match bench for Premier league matches and then be
prepared to do a couple of home games per season. This is the top level netball in the country, involves scoring and some match stats, and if a few
people do it then we can share the load!! We have nine home Prem matches during the season. Matches usually start at 12:30 on Sundays at LMU, so
volunteers would need to be avaible from say 12 noon until 2pm. The workshop to learn will probably be in August.
