PERFORMANCE
The Wednesday Netball Nights team had another close encounter losing by one goal in this Senior league. These matches are just what is needed for our juniors development and preparation for Regional and National Club competitions. Final score LANC 23 Leeds Tigers 24.

On Saturday the West Yorkshire Seniors would have faced Calderdale had the sports centre roof not been leaking. Annoying for those up with the larks for the 9am match which has been postponed.

It was a clash of the titans first thing on Sunday morning our U16A v U16B. Superb netball from both sides the A’s taking it by 36-18 but not without a fight from the Bs. Well done to all. This win for the As sees them take top spot in the league and they qualify for the Regional round of Nationals in first place.  Congratulations to the girls and coachIng team led by Maggie Birkenshaw on this great achievement. The U14As took on Yorkshire Terriers, this amazing 39-7 win puts them at the top of the league table and confirms a place in the Regional round of the Nationals competition. One more match to play against the Bs next week to confirm if they go through in first or second place. A tough encounter for the U14Bs against YMCA 1 a great match tight all the way resulting in a 23-26 loss. The youngest of our squads U12D faced Birkenshaw Belles another close one but they came out with a 8-7 win.

In Seniors the Northern girls took on a physical Hi Tech team away from home coming out as well deserved winners 66-47. Finally our Prem 1 team played Tameside at home punching out a 50-44 win in a closely contested match. Great coaching from Anna Carter and supporters making all the difference to the squad.

FUND RAISING

Following the fund raising meeting last week, the first events have already begun. Each age group will be running a raffle. Please give the organisers your support and thanks for getting involved in this new initiative.
Members of the fund raising group will also be sourcing sponsors for each team please contact Susie Stead if you would like more information.

Other ideas are being explored including requesting money from schemes run by large companies, investigating our club becoming registered as a charity and a team building sponsored three peaks walk.

Money will be used for a variety of club matters, but firstly to fund the Prem transport for away matches which can be anywhere in England. At some stage in your daughters netball journey this money will be vital, please offer support where possible.

PHOTO AND VIDEO PERMISSION
Please remember to inform friends or family who come to watch your game that photos and videos can only be taken of our team unless permission has been given IN ADVANCE by the other team, the umpires and the league. Please contact Susie Stead a week in advance to allow time to gain these permissions.
