News Update #22

3/2/2020

This week there were some players putting club first, massive thumbs up to Francine Hall, Libby Hodgkiss, Charlotte Beale and Anna Boocock you are all stars and understand the meaning of teamwork.

PERFORMANCE
Another win for our young netball nighters on Wednesday, a really close battle against Leeds Medics who beat them last time out. The game was won on the last goal, 27-26 the final outcome.
On Saturday depleted by injury and so many Leeds Rhinos athletes unavailable due to their afternoon fixture, the West Yorkshire Seniors made a brave attempt against Hi Tech but the opposition proved too strong and the score of 44-73 indicates such.
Cumberland were the visitors to Leeds Beckett to take on our Prem squad walking away with the win 43-59 despite all efforts from Leeds.
The Northern girls won 71- 41 against Seatonians, but it was tighter than it sounds only 10 up at 3/4 time, then they smashed it in the last.

At the EIS our Senior Regional girls faced Wakefield Wildcats who are always tenacious contenders. The young squad pulled off an amazing 49-37 win to remain top of the league.
In Juniors U16 Regional continued their winning run on a day with a palindrome date they provided us with a palindrome score 61-16 against Sheffield Concord.
U16 West Yorkshire girls too remain unbeaten and are top of the league. A great win today 44-12 against YMCA.
The U14 Regional team are also toppers of the league on goal difference with Kingston in second. This week they out played Chevrons in their 53-18 win.
Our  U12s had mixed results, the As took a storming lead over Birkenshaw Belles eventually winning 41-12 and although scrappy at times the match provided lots of ideas what areas of their game need improvement.
The U12Bs had a tough, slow game against Huddersfield Giants losing by 3. Although the game picked up in the latter part the final result became a 10-13 loss.
In the U12C game Leeds Athletic versus Yorkshire Terriers (1) the game was more evenly matched than the score of 4-22 suggests, Leeds losing out but recognising Terriers superior shooting stats.
The U12Ds had a game of two halves losing 10-1 at half time and then pulling a 5-5 score out of the bag for the third and fourth quarters, good to see improvement during the game. Final score LANC 6 - Huddersfield Giants (1) 15.
Once again the Hi5 babes pulled off a stunning win 27-4 against Wakefield Wildcats. Maybe Dan Ryan needs to be looking here for some Super League talent?

SPECTATE
Prem and Northern teams are playing away next weekend with no Senior Regional match.

LEEDS RHINOS
It was the start of the NPL league for Leeds Rhinos on Saturday, many of our LANC girls were playing in the fixture against Loughborough Lightning. The main event NPL U19 match was won by the visitors 39-57. The U17s were the victors in their game winning 47-30 and the U15s only a narrow loss 43-48. Well done to all our girls selected and playing in this top draw event.
