Match Report vs Wakefield Wildcats U14A

On Sunday morning the U14 A squad played their first match against a strong Wakefield Wildcats side. 7 girls took to the court at North Bridge leisure centre, in Halifax. The girls certainly went out for the win and within the first couple of minutes Leeds were up by 3 goals.

The pace did not slow down and after the first 10 minute quarter we were already leading 13-3.  After a positive quarter time talk, the same seven girls had chance to settle down and build on their already brilliant lead from the first quarter. Our play in the second quarter was slightly interrupted by the opposition and as we came up to half time we maintained our lead 18-6.

At half time 5 sets of fresh legs took to the court to extend the lead from half time.
This built on the positive play in the first half, as Leeds continued to create flowing play in attack with some excellent circle defence to finish the third quarter 27-6.

The final quarter was a case of consolidating the things that weren't as good in the previous quarter, and finishing the game of. This was certainly what the girls did.

As the final whistle blew the score was 32 goals to Leeds Athletic and 8 to Wakefield Wildcats. Well done to all the girls playing, you all did a brilliant job. And of course a massive thank you to Kylie for the hark work.
